Cliche’s exist for a reason. You can all roll your eyes (but we’d rather you raise a smile) when we’re dishing out awards to random players across the globe but to actually praise one of the best players in the world? Now we’re getting into some ridiculous territory.
The Bundesliga returned tonight and one of it’s leading lights hit the ground running. With Bayern Munich a goal down, a season that’s hardly been plain sailing could have become a indisputable crisis. Not to say we think that but the shitstorm that would have gone down had they lost would have been appropriate for the day Trump gets sworn in.
Enter Robert Lewandowski. Nothing like having one of the best finishers in world football at your disposal. It took until the ninetieth minute for Bayern to polish off Frieburg (see what we did there). This result now puts them six points clear of RB Leipzig having played a game more. It’s nice to see the well supported underdogs making a fist of it against the financially backed megapower. Not sure which of the two is which mind.
